Latifah Osazee: Nigerian Blogger, Influencer And Content Creator.

Hi, can we meet you?

my name is Latifah Osazee I am a Nigerian blogger, Influencer and Content Creator living in  The Netherlands, my Youtube channel coming soon.

What inspired you to blog?

It actually just happened spontaneously. I first just started an Instagram page just for personal use for friends and family like everyone else. And when my page started growing I started posting more fashion, hair and make up related things. I started blogging and sharing things that really interested me. Soon I would also like to start sharing my work as in video’s I have edited, drawings and logo’s I made etc.

Who would you say is your number one fashion inspiration?

I don’t really have a favourite fashion icon. I get inspired by so many people and different cultures and sometimes even things haha.

We understand that one of the strengths of bloggers is traffic. How do you build traffic, how do you get people to visit your site or Instagram page,  and never stop Coming back?

I don’t really have a strategy. People always ask me how I get my people to come to my page a lot. I don’t really do anything. You can promote yourself as much as you want and maybe even pay Instagram to promote your page. But to be honest, if people don’t like what they see or the content you make they won’t follow and they won’t like. I would say try and post as frequently as possible and try making content that you know your audience will engage to. So if you are a photographer maybe make some dope pics with nice edits and maybe give people tips about the programs you use etc. That will keep your audience coming back for more. And interact with your followers!

What are some of your current fashion obsessions?

I don’t know what it is but I just invented a thing for jumpsuits, high-waisted pants and shades now haha. I caught myself buying all different kinds of shades of different colours. The funny thing is before I use to never buy shades. Because I thought shades didn’t really suit me but now nobody can tell me nothing hahaha. And I think my obsession for high-waisted pants started when I noticed that it made me look taller. I’m 1,65 that’s like the height that you still have to jump to get things off the top shelf haha. So damn right I’m wearing my high waisted pants! Also, I just like how it fits my body shape I think that’s the same reason I love jumpsuits.

Who is your favourite blogger?

I don’t really have a favourite blogger or person. I get inspired by so many different kinds of bloggers I see on Youtube, Instagram or even Facebook. I could name a couple of people I follow and that inspire me some type of way! Here is a little list so you guys can maybe check them out:

1.  Peakmill ( Instagram) I just love how she switches up her hair. As you can see on my page I also love trying a different type of hairstyles and I review extensions and I love making my own wigs! And somewhere along the line, I can definitely say that she has inspired me some type of way as well!

2. Bryanadamc ( Instagram) yall need to check him on Instagram! I just love love love the way he takes and edits his pictures. All his pictures have a certain vibe to it that I mess with!

How long have you been blogging?

I really started blogging seriously about two years ago.

What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far?

I haven’t really gotten there, to be honest. Its sometimes only a hassle when I’m drowning in homework, have exams or am working. But it’s not like a big deal actually. I love blogging and it brings good things to the table but I also know I have different kind of important obligations that I need to fulfil. Planning is key Y’all haha.

What do you do in your spare time?

Maybe as some of you already know I study Content Design and I love to draw, design and create things like apps, websites, magazines, folders, logo’s and many many more. I also love photography and like editing videos and even shooting them.

What is blogging to you- a profession or hobby?

Both, some companies pay you for certain services so you have to deal with them on a professional level. But on the other side, it doesn’t feel like work and l really love blogging and that’s why its also a hobby. Cause its a thing I don’t mind doing and I love to do!

Beauty secrets?

Remove your make up before you sleep don’t be lazy haha I know its very tempting especially after a night out or so. But that will also prevent you from getting blackheads or pimples. Also, I don’t really have pimples so I never used certain products just a scrub and that was it. But lately I have been using Aloe vera gel with vitamin E oil… and giiiiiiiiiiiirll my skin became even clearer and smoother!! And now I use it every morning and night.

Who takes the majority of your photos?

All different kind of people! sometimes photographers some I even make myself and sometimes I just force my brother or sister haha.

How would you describe your personal style?

I would describe my personal style as urban

Heels or Flats?

Flats all day! But I love my heels though don’t get me wrong. Heels sometimes just make a whole outfit complete but it’s not everyday heels you know haha.

Favourite Quote?

” You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great ”

What is one thing your readers would be surprised to hear?

I got my degree in dentistry before doing Communication and multimedia design haha. And I’m so glad I did. Don’t get me wrong I liked doing dentistry but its very hard being creative in a dentist office with your white uniform on all the time every day haha. With this education, I can really express myself and let my imagination go wild. I really love what I do and it doesn’t feel like work at all.

Have there been times you wanted to drop blogging?

No, I haven’t gotten to that point yet I still go to school and work. Blogging is a hobby for me and I still love to do it because it doesn’t feel like an obligation yet.

What keeps you going?

I just like posting certain outfits and people private messaging me that they are going to buy the outfit or somehow feel inspired. That means allot to me that they really took the time of day to tell me that. Its also like.

How often do you blog?

I try to post every day but when I have exams or other important things… like real life I put blogging in the backseat for a while haha

What’s at the back of your mind when you blog?money, fame, passion or all?

Passion, I think if you do anything just for money or for fame and without passion. You won’t be able to do it for very long. It’s not by force you know haha. You can only force yourself for so long.

What is the biggest difference in your life post-blogging?

To be honest not much has drastically changed I still go to school and I still work. What Y’all thought that I was going to drop out and do this fulltime? You know African parents don’t play hahaha. But who knows in the near future I would maybe like to start my own clothing line.  I have so many ideas that I want to put out! But patience is key.

But getting in contact with different big companies and working together with them has been a very nice experience. Also, me trying a different kind of products and reviewing them and working with certain amazing people have been things that I think I wouldn’t be able to do if it wasn’t for me blogging.

How do you express your gratitude to your followers?

I always try to reply to all my direct messages and all my comments as much as I can. People are always so nice and positive. Also, l try to give back by having giveaways once in a while.

Your advice to prospective bloggers

Like I said before try posting allot! And engage with your followers and try making content that sits well with you and your followers! And the most important thing is just to have fun while doing it.

What would you say that is the greatest satisfaction of being a fashion blogger? (Invitations to fashion events, interaction with people, gifts, etc.)

I think the perks of being a fashion blogger is trying out all different kind of products out before a company maybe even launch the product. It could be makeup, skin care products, clothing, hair extensions, beauty products etc. I use to always love trying out different kind of products even before I started blogging.  Also, the interaction I have with all different kind of people all over the world is amazing. I could be talking with someone that lives in India and is sending me pictures of different kind of clothes that she made. It’s very inspiring!
